T.G.M. WRI studies focused on impacts of climate change on water cycle components and water resources
Original language description
T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute in Prague developed a system, which applies three interlinked models for simulation of hydrological and water management conditions in a basin. Monthly series of hydrological and water management variables are simulated for current conditions and also for possible future conditions with regard to climate change scenarios. The system consists of Bilan water balance model for simulation of water cycle components, Modflow model for groundwater simulation and a water management model for simulation of availability of water resources. The system has been applied in a number of projects aimed to support integrated water resources management and water management planning in the Czech Republic.
