Concentrations of radiocaesium and radiostrontium were assessed in surface water, sediments, fish and aquatic flora affected and not affected by waste water discharges from Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. The assessment included residual contamination originating from nuclear atmosphere weapons tests in the last century and Chernobyl accident in 1986. Results of long-term monitoring (since 1990) were used for derivation of effective ecological half-lives in components of hydrosphere. Possible impact of waste waters discharged from Temelín plant on radiocaesium and radiostrontium concentrations in the Vltava River was assessed by using data observed in the period 2001-2010.
