Original language description
The objective of this study was to present an analysis of the current state of the fulfilment of national plans for the management of European eel, Anguilla anguilla in the rivers Elbe and Oder for the 2nd report on the fulfilment of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1100/2007 of 18 September 2007 establishing measures for the recovery of the stock of European eel. The study specifically cover following headline topics: results of monitoring of eel catadromous migration, assessment of the intensity of fishing on eel populations, mortality caused by factors other than fishing, stocking by eel in the Czech Republic, fulfilment of main measures for improving the success rate of reproduction-related migrations by eel, adopted in the Czech Republic. The study was performed for Czech Ministry of Agriculture and reported to European Commision.
