Circadian misalignment in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Poster
Original language description
Disruption of circadian rhythms seems to have a very negative effect on many aspects of health, notexcluding glycemic control. There are studies researching the impact of inadequate sleep patterns onpoor diabetes control and other risks in type 2 diabetic patients, but there is a knowledge gap towhat extent individual chronotype affects type 1 diabetes (T1DM). We aimed to prove that daily “unhealthy“ sleep-wake behavior habits have negative impact on T1DMcontrol and its chronic complications. This could have a potential benefit in optimizing the treatment of T1DM patients in the future.
