Viktor Kronbauer - Theatre Photography (monographic book)
Original language description
The monographic book illustrates Viktor Kronbauer's artistic journey from photographic beginnings (such as school works and first artistic photographs), through a period when he worked as a photographer in the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, and various local and international productions. It depicts an important shift in the concept of theatre photography, reflecting the transformation of theatre aesthetics from the early 1980s to present times. Viktor Kronbauer (born on June 6, 1949 in Prague) has been awarded the Silver Medal (2002) and two Gold Medals (2005) at the Triennial of Theatrical Photography Competition in Novi Sad, Serbia. In 2005, as the first theatre photographer, Kronbauer won the FIA International Federation of the Art of Photograph Medal. Denisa Šťastná is the editor of the publication. The authors of the accompanying texts are Viktor Kronbauer, Ondřej Černý, Eva Stehlíková, and Vlasta Smoláková. The book is published in a bilingual Czech-English edition. ISBN 978-80-7008-379-6.
