Mineralogy of the skarns of the Bohemian part of the western and central Krušné Hory Mountains
Original language description
New research of skarn minerals confirmed a compicated development of skarns of the studied region. Determination of REE in various types of skarns confirmed a partial influence of Variscan granitoids on pre-Variscan skarns. The skarns in the western andcentral Krušné hory Mts. are of pre-Variscan and Variscan ages. The pre-Variscan skarns of the central Krušné Hory Mts. developed in four stages, the third of which was marked by topomineral retention of sulfides. The Variscan skarns were influenced by the Krušné Hory pluton and they differ in their relations to the main intrusion complexes. The deposit at Měděnec mine area has been described as a type skarn deposit and it is characterized by the association of magnetite with pyroxene, garnet, amphibole, epidote, chlorite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and some other rare minerals.
