    Distribution of the diving beetles in the Czech Republic are summarised. Literature data, old material deposited in collections and new recent findings are presented. Dytiscus latissimus has not been recorded in the Czech Republic since 1957 and it is classified as "regionally extinct". Graphoderus bilineatus is currently known from a single locality in Southern Bohemia and is classified as "critically endangered". Their preferred habitats as well as potential protection measures are discussed.
