Some new records of bats from Morocco (Chiroptera)
Original language description
New records of bats resulting from two surveys in 2008 and 2010, focused mainly on southern regions of Morocco, are presented. Altogether 19 bat species were recorded in Morocco s.str. and only one species, Pipistrellus kuhlii s.l., was documented from the Western Sahara. This bat remains the only bat species known from this vast desert area. Some notes on the distribution and echolocation of the recorded taxa are added, including the first data on echolocation characteristics of the recently recognisedspecies Eptesicus isabellinus and Plecotus gaisleri.
