The family correspondence of Vojta Náprstek is a unique collection of letters documenting his time in America between 1848-1858. Approximately 60 letters have been preserved, undoubtedly only a fragment of the correspondence on each side. Nevertheless, they help us to understand what drove Náprstek to leave the Czech lands, and give us a better understanding of his difficult beginnings in America and of his activity in Milwaukee. Above all, however, they document the situation of the Náprstek family and the relationships between its members.
