Original language description
The article informs about the first phase of research on woodwind instruments by Franz Doleisch (1748-1805). It gives an outline of the history of research on the basset horns of the Prague maker and summarizes biographical information about this instrument maker. The main part contains an inventory of identified basset horns from domestic and foreign collections, their description and comparison with contemporary production. The obtained information shows that Franz Doleisch was one of the leaders in his field in the second half of the 18th century. Nevertheless, his heritage in musical organology has not been sufficiently elaborated and adequately reflected yet.
