  • Original language description

    The article is devoted to the famous painting Venus and Cupid in Vulcan´s Forge by Maerten van Heemskerck which is kept at the National Gallery in Prague. It was generally accepted, that painter created this painting during his stay in Rme in 1536. However, technological research proved, that Van Heemskerck painted this canvas only after his return to the Low Countries.
