František Kupka ? The Road to Amorpha. Kupka?s Salons: 1899?1913.
Original language description
The centenary that celebrates Kupka?s ?strong? year 1912 has been a symbolic impulse for mounting the exhibition František Kupka: The Road to Amorpha. Kupka?s Salons: 1899?1913 and publishing the same name publication. The whole project commemorates theyear that this Czech artist arrived on the threshold of one of the most influential conceptual art projects of the 20th century ? abstraction in art. The publication in particular reflects the contextualization of Kupka?s oeuvre in the form of heuristicinquiries into the Salons and critical treatises with new findings on the subject, respectively. In their essays, Czech and French scholars explore the contexts of Kupka?s creativity, frequently shedding new light on the subject. In addition, the exhibition and the book touch upon the ?historically? topical issue of modern-time communication in the arts and the logic of the art market.
