This article focuses on little known painting Madonna and Child with Music-Making Angels by Dirck de Quade van Ravesteyn. The author of this picture, who came to the court of Rudolf II in 1589, was fascinated by paintings and drawings by Albrecht Dürer.Works by Dürer were at that time kept in Prague, as the emperor collected them. Ravesteyn had access to the imperial collection, where he could see works by Albrecht Dürer and other artists.
