A guide to the exhibition presents topics of the life, political and social role of Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria (1529-1595), son of Emperor Ferdinand I. as well as his achievement in the field of building activities in Bohemia and in Tyrol. The following chapters concern his celebrated collections of arms and armories, his kunstkammer and library. The last part deals with court events and festivities. The publication draws attention to chosen objects of the exhibition that was prepared by the National Gallery in Prague in cooperation with Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, Schloss Ambras Innsbruck and Institut of Art History of Academy of Sciences.
