Besides his own artistic work, Jiří Valoch was active in other fields as well: he organized a large number of exhibitions and wrote numerous academic essays. Based on the study of archival sources, interviews with Jiří Valoch and artists he collaborated with, the monograph traces the process that led to the creation of his extensive collection and describes the societal mechanisms that determined the art scene in Czechoslovakia in the normalization period.
