Via Lucis. Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová for Sacred Spaces in Bohemia and Moravia
Original language description
Via lucis – The Way of Light – is dedicated to the works of art in public, previously sacred, spaces produced by Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová in Bohemia and Moravia in the years 1964–2003. The book collects and compiles the available facts and evaluates them in the wider context of their time, their collaborative links with architecture, and within the semantic concept of the role of light in architecture. Presents new findings acquired by her investigation of newly published sources and master’s theses, archival materials in Prague Castle and Brno, interviews with contemporaries or heirs… The publication offers an enriched contextual view of the works of both of the glass artists, allowing for anew interpretation and thus an updated definition of the artistic legacy of the internationally established Czech artist, the glassmaker and teacher Stanislav Libenský, and his key collaborator and partner, Jaroslava Brychtová. Eglish edition of the book was published for Stanislav Libenský 20th death anniversary and to the ICOM Conference in Prague in August 2022.
