Vitamin D receptor regulates TGF-beta signalling in systemic sclerosis
Original language description
We characterize VDR as a negative regulator of TGF-β / Smad signaling. Impaired VDR signaling with reduced expression of VDR and decreased levels of its ligand may thus contribute to hyper-active TGF-β signaling and aberrant fibroblast activation in SSc.
