In this article, experiments describing BimEL dependent apoptosis induced in peripheral blood lymphocytes with n-butyric acid are documented. Variations in c-myc and p21(WAF1) genes are discussed as moderating an effect of butyrate. Generation of reactive oxygen species as a consequence of butyrate action is also mentioned.

V článku jsou dokumentovány experimenty popisující vliv butyrátu na lymfocyty zdravých dárců. Je popsána cesta s účastí proapoptotického proteinu BimEL, kterou jsou lymfocyty působením butyrátu vedeny do apoptózy, a jsou diskutovány děje, které mají zmírňující vliv na průběh apoptózy: změny v expresi genů c-myc a p21(WAF1). Zmíněn je také vliv reaktivních kyslíkových radikálů na apoptózu.
