CCAAT/Enhancer-Binding Protein Alpha (CEBPA) polymorphisms and mutation in healthy individuals and in patients with peripheral artery disease, ischaemic heart disease and hyperlipidaemia

  • Original language description

The CCAAT/enhancer - binding protein ?, (CEBPA) is a transcription factor that induces expression of genes involved in differentiation of granulocytes, monocytes, adipocytes and hepatocytes. Four types of polymorphisms in the CEBPA gene were detected inhealthy individuals and the patients with peripheral artery disease, ischaemic heart disease and hyperlipidaemia. Frequency of P4 polymorphism (580_585dup) was found to be significantly increased in the ischaemic heart disease patients.
