Estimation of the time delay of epileptic spikes by ICA
Original language description
A method of epileptic spikes location by means of Independent Component Analysis is proposed. The original EEG signal is decomposed into independent component which are then separated according to the presence or absence of epileptifomn activity. The time delay between the spikes, as detected in the individual channels, is measured and the results are presented in form av topographic maps. The method was tested in four EEG records containing spikes and it was found that their location and spreading could be determined with a satisfactory accuracy.
