Original language description
The taxonomic status of the strains of phenon 1 and phenon 2 genus Acinetobacter) was investigated using a collection of 51 strains from different European countries. DNA-DNA hybridization studies, AFLP, 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis and phenotypic analysis revealed that these phenons represented two new species for which the names Acinetobacter ursingii sp. nov. and Acinetobacter schindleri sp. nov. are proposed.
