Original language description
In the Czech Republic the medical information resources are shared only on the level of individual autonomous library information systems. The National Medical Library has obtained financial resources for the solution of the project named The Medical Virtual Library (MEDVIK). The project is focused on developing MEDVIK as a tool for sharing information resources for the benefit of medical science and research. Special emphasis is paid to an extending the scope and quality of provided services. Institutefor Postgraduate Medical Education, Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine and Institute for Hematology and Blood Transfusion are the participants in the project. The project aim is the connection of autonomous and various library informationsystems of four solution organization to one integrate virtual MEDVIK space. An aggregate database of the created MEDVIK system is going to become a part of Uniform information gateway for hybrid libraries using the MetaLIB and SFX so
