During catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, pulsed f ield ablation (PFA) has demonstrated important safety advantages over thermal energies.1,2 However, in a recent retrospective observational study of over 17 000 patients with atrial fibrillation treated with a pentaspline PFA catheter, an unexpected complication was observed: hemolysis-induced renal failure.
