Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is associated with an increased risk of cerebrovascular and other thrombotic events [1]. Previous studies have shown that patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have a worse functional outcome than those without concomitant SARS-CoV-2 infection.
