Long-term modeling of acidification and recovery in an upland catchment of the Western Ore Mountains, SE Germany
Original language description
Modeling was focused on the liming activities and their impact on streamwater quality at the Grosse Pyra catchment. The MAGIC model was able to reproduce the annual measured streamwater chemistry for the period 1994-1999. Furthermore, the older dataa fitted reasonably the simulated data. Under the fiven future scenario and liming scenario there will be a steep increase in pH up to 5.0 until the end of liming activities. From then the pH will decline again to 4.6 in 2020. The long-term recovery of streamwater will be only partly affected by terrestrial liming.
