Original language description
Long-term streamwater patterns in two catchments underlain by different bedrock (leucogranite vs. serpentinite) were studied by field monitoring in 1989-2002 and computer modeling which simulated the period 1851-2030. Soil base saturation and water pH declined significantly at the leucogranite site. Serpentinite catchment was able to mitigate long-term acidification but not the short-term acidification during high flows.
