Lithofacial analysis of the Miocene sediments in the southern part of Carpathian Foredeep, based on the re-interpretation of drill logging data
Original language description
Miocene sediments were studied on the basis of drill logging, drill hole cores and seismic reflection profiles in the southern part of the Carpathian Foredeep in the Moravia. Based on the evaluation of well log measurements from the southern part of theCarpathian Foredeep, the lithological study of borehole cores and seismic profiles, 13 well log facies were recognised. Using selected well log facies and maps of their thicknesses, architecture of the basin fill as well as development of southern part of the Carpathian Foredeep was characterized. Maps of thicknesses of well log facies allow us to illustrate 5 stages of basin development. Individual stages also reflect the ruling factors of basin and depositional space formation.
