Hevy contamination of soils and stream sediments was detected in the mining district of Ndola in Zambia. Contamination of stream sediment is mostly due to overflow of metal-rich suspensions from retention dams and from thickeners of the Konkola Copper Mining PLc. The district of Chililabombwe is less affected by contamination.

Czech description
V oblasti důlního revíru Hdola v Zambii byla zjištěna vysoká kontaminace půd a řečištních sedimentů kovy. Hlavním zdrojem kontaminace je vypouštění suspenzí z odkalovacích nádrží a ze zahusťovačů v úpravně společnosti Konkola Copper Mining Plc. Důlní oblast Chililabombwe je průmyslovou kontaminací postižena daleko méně.
