Biostratigraphy and paleoecology of L. Badenian deposits were studied in 2 boreholes situated in the s. part in the C. Foredeep. Planktonic foraminifers document M5b. Presence of Uvigerina macrocarinata and Praeorbulina g. circularis indicates ?L. Lagenid Zone?. Calcareous nannofossils with Helicosphaera waltrans give evidence for NN5 Zone of c. nanoplankton. Quickly changeable paleoenvironment, especially sea level fluctuation and non-stable conditions are documented by 5 types of microfauna: 1. shallow-water foraminifers accompanied by fragments of molluscs and bryozoans ? infralittoral, 2. joint occurrence of agglutinated and calcareous benthic foraminifers ? circalittoral to upper bathyal, 3. euryoxybiont foraminifers indicate low oxygen bottom water of circalittoral, 4. dominance of planktonic foraminifers with pyritized tests ? low oxygen sea, circalittoral to upper bathyal), 5. mixed assemblages of shallow- and deep-water foraminifers document slumps or storm events.

Byla studována biostratigrafie and paleoekologie spodnobaden. sedimentů ze 2 vrtů situovaných v j. části karpatské předhlubně. Planktonní foraminifery dokumentují zónu M5b. Výskyt druhů Uvigerina macrocarinata a Praeorbulina glomerosa circularis indikujísp. lagenidovou zónu. Vápnitý nannoplankton s Helicosphaera waltrans určují zónu NN5. Rychle se měnící paleoprostředí, zvláště kolísání mořské hladiny a nestabilní podmínky dokumentují pět typů společenstev: 1. mělkovodní foraminifery vyskytující se spolu s úlomky měkkýšů a mechovek ? infralitoral, 2. společený výskyt aglutinovaných a vápnitých bentických foraminifer ? circalitoral až svrchní batyal, 3. euryoxybiontní foraminifery indikující malé množství kyslíku ve dnových vodách cirkalitoral, 4. dominance planktonních foraminifer s pyritizovanými schránkami ? málo okysličené moře, cirkalitoral až svrchní batyál), 5. smíšená společenstva mělko- a hlubokovodních foraminifer dokládají skluzové nebo bouřkové události.
