The UNESCO European Geopark Bohemian Paradise is situated in NE Bohemia and is represented by crystalline rocks and sediments (Quaternary sediments). Within the geological mapping in the territory of the Geopark Bohemian Paradise the biostratigraphical research of organic sediments on the map of Semily, Kněžmost, Rovensko pod Troskami, Turnov, Lomnice nad Popelkou were carried out. The known localities were verified and sediments for pollen analysis and radiocarbon dating were sampled on all found localities: Nová Ves ? Mašov (NVM), Karlovice (KR 2), Koberovy (KBRV), Rokytnice (RKT), Želejov (ŽEL), Mříčná ? Zimrov (M-Z), Žehrov ? Skokovy (Ž-S), borehole Karlovice KR 1, Pod Lipinou, Buda, Komárovský rybník Pond, Sněhurka, Obora. All available organic sediments were examined and sampled for the palynological research. For the time-trouble reasons the most complete samples were chosen for the detailed palynological, palaeoalgological and palaeoecological research.
