Persistent effects of acidification on stream ecosystem structure and function
Original language description
Shifts in macroinvertebrate communities and sensitivity of whole-stream metabolism to acidification were investigated in nine small forested streams exhibiting large pH gradient. Acidification reduced taxon richness and reduced Ephemeropteta family richness and abundance. However the whole-stream metabolism wasn not significantly related fo stream pH.
