The Phanerozoic ?88/86Sr Record of Seawater: New Constraints on Past Changes in Oceanic Carbonate Fluxes
Original language description
This paper uses isotope system of alkaline earth metal, i.e. strontium, in modern and fossil marine skeletal carbonates (brachiopods, belemnites) to reconstruct variability in Sr isotope evolution of Phanerozoic seawater. This experimental isotope recordof Phanerozoic seawater is then simulated with a numerical model of coupled strontium-calcium-magnesium-carbon oceanic cycles with implications for Earth's system evolution and paleo-oceanography/climatology.
