Original language description
The Archive of CGS processed a set of digitized historical geological maps of the Archive of GBA. The set contained manuscript geological maps from the second half of the 19th century, which were based on topography copied from the Second Military Mapping Survey of the Austrian Empire at a scale of 1:28 800. During this phase of the project, the Archive in Prague focused on digitized of one part of the whole map set of Austrian Monarchy (maps that covered only areas of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia). The main goal of the project was to merge individual scans of these maps into one integral geological map layer with additional information available, which documents knowledge about geology of the above mentioned area in that time.
