The Project of the Czech–Mongolian cooperation entitled „Geological mapping 1: 50 000 and assessment of economic potential of selected region in Western Mongolia“ (Project in the text below) was realised within 2013–2016. The major objectives of the Project was: 1/ compilation of 5 geological map sheets at a scale of 1 : 50,000, 2/ compilation of 5 sets of geochemical anomalies maps at 1 : 50,000 scale, complemented by maps of mineral occurrences, 3/ geological investigation including application of geochemical and geochronological data, and application of selected field geophysical methods, 4/ to strengthen the Government capacity and capacity building of Mongolian counterpart specialists, 5/ to assess the mineral potential of the selected area. The Project was funded by the Government of the Czech Republic, commissioned by the Czech Development Agency and implementer was Czech Geological Survey, Prague in cooperation with Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia (MRAM), Geological Investigation Centre (GIC) and Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST).
