Geochemistry and pH control of seepage from Ni-Cu rich mine tailings at Selebi Phikwe, Botswana
Original language description
Acid mine drainage from Ni-Cu mine talings at Selebi Phikwe, eastern Botswana has been investigated. There are ochres dominated by jarosite and pH decreases downstream. Large quantities of Cu and Ni are transported in suspension. Geochemical modeling was able to reproduce pH trends linked to jarosite precipitation.
