Complex Landslides in Cretaceous Rocks at Příhrazy Plateau, Dneboh Landslide, Drábské Světničky (Drábské Rooms)
Original language description
The area of the field trip is situated near the town of Mnichovo Hradiště approximately 80 km NE of Prague, located in the north-western part of Příhrazy Plateau. The area belongs to the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin with high degree of vulnerability in terms of landslides. Numerous slope deformations here are caused mainly by the so-called double structure of the slope, where more rigid rocks (mainly sandstones) lie on plastic rocks (mainly claystone). The evolutionary conceptual model of this geological structure is discussed. Substantial part of the field trip guide is devoted to the extensive landslide that destroyed the village of Dneboh in June 1926.
