Sulphur concentration and distribution in three varieties of oilseed rape in relation to sulphur fertilisation at vegetative stages.
Original language description
A pot trial was conducted on 3 varieties of winter rape: line viariety Lirajet (L), its genetically modified form Lirajet Roundup Ready (GML) and hybrid variety Pronto (P) to study the effect of graded S application rates on concentrations and distribution of total S, sulphates and glucosinolates at different growth stages. Large differences in the concentration and distribution of total S and sulphates was determined between varieties, particularly between L and GML. The effect of graded S application rates on total S and sulphates contents and distribution was confirmed. Sulphates were an important component of total S in the vegetative parts. Glucosinolate contents and distribution were not explicitly related to S-fertilising. Their proportions in the vegetative parts of oilseed rape were minimum. Even P had somewaht higher glucosinolate contents in all vegettive parts including leaves.
