The influence of sowing technology on success of strip seeding establishment

  • Original language description

The influence of sowing technology (7 alterations) of strip seeding of Trifolium pratense L. (TP) Radegast (4n) and intergeneric hybrid (RH) HŽ x VIII x DK into grassland on field emergence in the year of strip seeding (2000) and dry matter production ofstrip seeded species in the average of three harvests in the first yield year (2001) were observed in the experiments at the site in Jevíčko. The technology of strip seeding significantly affects the results of strip seeding. Surface sowing is sufficientin wet conditions, sowing before the rotary with inserting the seeds into the soil profile increases field emergency in dry seasons. The technology of strip seeding by a sowing disc opener is convenient for sowing on flat lands and along the gradient;however, when sowing on the slope along the contour line, the seeds are not in contact with the soil. In the field practice it is recommendable to combine all types of sowing (on the surface, with a sowing disc opener, before rotary).
