Distribution, variability and overwintering of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus in the Czech Republic.

Original language description

The incidence of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) was monitored in South Moravia during 1977-2001. Crops of gherkin, squash, zucchini and cucumebrs were found infected with ZYMV, causing severe stunting and yellowing with deformed leaves and fruits. Six isolates of ZYMV were differentiated. ZYMV was also detected in one plant of Tripleurospermum maritimum out of 46 tested, and in 2 plants of Stellaria media out of 29 tested. T. maritimum is a new host of ZYMV.
