Influence of site and some agricultural practices on yields of phytomass and other parameters of miscanthus determined for energy utilization.

  • Original language description

Within the period from 1995 to 2004 were at three various sites monitored the field trials with the miscanthus cultivar "Gigantheus". Investigated was affect of the soil-climatic conditions on the plants wintering over the first winter period. Investigated were the site effect as well as N-fertilization on the over-ground phytomass yield. Investigated was the term of harvest on water content in harvested material, phytomass losses over the winter period, content of basic nutrient elements and energycontent in plants. The phytomass yields have fluctuated every year according to the soil-climatic conditions and they increased in average from 13.046 t/ha at site in Lukavec to 27.935 t/ha in Ruzyně. Annual after-fertilization with nitrogen in spring (doseof 50 kg/ha) has increased the phytomass yield by 14 % (average) and the N dose of 100 kg/ha further increased the yield by another 7 % as compared with the non-fertilized variants. The phytomass yields also decreased with the harvest dat
