    Permanent grasslands in the Czech Republic (CR) cover the area of 950 thousand ha, that is 22.2 % of agricultural land (4,280 thousand ha). The decrease of cattle numbers from 1,236 thousand heads in 1990 to 590 thousand heads in 2003 caused worse management and utilisation of grasslands (803 thousand ha were utilised in 2002) because 50 % of cattle is located in lowlands where the basis of feeding ratio are forages on arable land, silage corn and concentrates. We established long-term accurate small plot trials at five sites in the Czech Republic in 2003. These were managed at four levels of utilisation (four, three, two, and two cuts) and four levels of fertilisation (zero fertilisation, PK, N90PK, N180PK). We evaluate dry matter production of grasslands, species diversity and forage quality by technique NIRS in following parameters: the production and concentration of crude protein , NEL , NEV, PDIE, PDIN during two years (2003, 2004).

    Trvalé travní porosty v České republice zaujímají plochu 950 tis. hektarů, což činí 22.2 % zemědělské půdy (4,280 tis. hathousand ha). Snížení počtu kusů skotu z 1,236 tis. v roce 1990 na 590 tis. v roce 2003 zapříčinilo špatné obhospodařování travních porostů a 803 tis bylo využíváno v roce 2002) protože 50 % skotu je v nížinách, kde základ krmné dávky jsou krmiva z orné půdy - siláž, koncentráty. Založili jsme dlouhodobé pokusy na 5 stanovištích v České republice v roce 2003. Sledujeme 4 úrovně využívání (4 sečné, tří sečné a 2x dvousečné využití)a čtyři úrovně hnojení (0, PK, N90PK, N180PK). Hodnotíme produkci sušiny, botaniské složení a na technice NIRS hodnotíme: CP, NEL , NEV, PDIE, PDIN v letech 2003,2004
