Wheat ears suspicious of Fusarium head blight (FHB) were collected in four year period (2003-2006) in all winter wheat growing regions of Czech Republic. The study identified a prevailing occurrence of F. graminearum. From the results of the existing investigations it is evident that there prevails occurrence of DON-producing chemotypes in the territory of the Czech Republic. On the basis of the three-year field experiments (2004-2006), the highest resistance to deoxynivalenol (DON) accumulation was detected in the cultivars Apache, Samanta, Simila, Arina and Alana. The dynamics of the deoxynivalenol (DON) formation was studied in 5 winter wheat cultivars under controlled conditions on the detached spikes. High DON concentrations were identified in early phases (7th day) after inoculation.

Czech description

Vzorky podezřelé z infekce fuzariózou klasu byly shromážděny ve 4 ročnících (2003-2006) z území celé České republiky. Byl zjištěn převládající výskyt Fusarium graminearum. Z dosažených výsledků je zřejmé, že na území České republiky převládají chemotypyprodukující deoxynivalenol (DON). Na základě tříletých polních pokusů (2004-2006) byla zjištěna nejvyšší rezistence k akumulaci DON u odrůd Apache, Samanta, Simila, Arina a Alana. Dynamika tvorby DON byla studována u 5 odrůd pšenice ozimé za kontrolovaných podmínek na odstřižených klasech. Vysoká koncentrace DON byla identifikována již v rané fázi (7 dní) po infekci.
