A high level of disease resistance than parental variety Hana, combined with bread-making quality, broader adaptation and frost resistance were the main breeding goals. Relatively higher resistance to Fusarium head blight is a great advantage of the Sakura variety, which was confirmed also in European Fusarium ring tests. It is important that combined resistance to several other diseases was dtected in this variety. Lodging resistance of this variety is high.

Šlechtitelským cílem bylo zlepšení zdravotního stavu mateřské odrůdy Hana při zachování její vysoké pekařské jakosti, adaptability a dobré mrazuvzdornosti. Odrůda Sakura vyniká zvýšenou odolností k fuzarióze klasu, která byla potvrzena iv evropských kruhových testech. Kladem je komplexní rezistence k několika dalším chorobám a velmi dobrá odolnost k poléhání.
