Original language description

The effect of the cessation of grazing on dynamics of weedy species was studied in upland grassland in the Jizerske Mountains, Czech Republic. Experimental pasture was abandoned from 1998 to 2001 and after that it has been managed by late cut for three years. Within four years of abandonment, differences among swards caused by previous continuous stocking and rotational grazing had disappeared and tall weedy grasses (Holcus mollis, Elytrigia repens) and shade-tolerant weedy forbs (Ranunculus repens, Veronica chamaedrys) dominated all swards. Cover of Rumex obtusifolius increased after cessation of grazing management as well. On other hand Taraxacum sp. was gradually reduced in the course of abandonment. The most interesting was initial increase and than substantial decrease of R. obtusifolius after grazing cessation.

Czech description

Vliv ukončení pastevního managementu na dynamiku lučních plevelných druhů byl studován na loukách v podhůří Jizerských hor v České republice. Pokusná pastvina byla opuštěná od r. 1998 do r. 2001 a po té byla po tři roky v pozdním termínu kosena. V průběhu čtyř let od opuštění zmizely rozdíly mezi ve struktuře porostu způsobené předchozí kontinuální a rotační pastvou, ve všech porostech začaly dominovat vysoké plevelné trávy (Holcus mollis, Elytrigia repens) a stínomilné plevelné byliny (Ranunculus repens, Veronica chamaedrys). Po opuštění pastevního způsobu obhospodařování vzrostla také pokryvnost Rumex obtusifolius, nejzajímavější byl počáteční růst tohoto druhu a potom jeho značný pokles. Na druhé straně pokryvnost Taraxacum sp. byla v průběhu experimentu postupně redukována.
