Odrůdy jabloně Idared a Šampion byly ozdravovány od virů jabloně pomocí termoterapie in vitro kultur při 39°C. Před i po aplikaci termoterapie byly rostliny testovány na přítomnost virů jabloně. Pomocí termoterapie byly získány viruprosté rostliny odrůdjabloně Idared a Šampion.
