Total, potential effectivity of 34 plant essential oils was verified against Agrobacterium tumefaciens, the causal agent of crown gall, in vitro. Effectiveness of plant oils was compared with streptomycin used as standard. The strongest inhibitory effectwas showen by essential oils from Origanum compactum, Thuja occidentalis, Origanum vulgare, Ocimum basilicum, Rosmarinus officinalis, Thymus vulgaris, Salvia officinalis, Artemisia absinthium, Origanum majorana and Mentha arvensis and further Thymus matschiana and Lavandula angustifolia.
