Influence of the seed traits, genotype and locality on the traits of the root system
Original language description
It follows from the wheat analysis, that the traits of roots are under genetic control. Statistically significant differences among measured traits were obtained. The quality of root is modified by genotype (r=0,85? ?), by environmental conditions (r=0,65?) and by seed traits, especially by vigour (r=0,75?) and by seed storage conditions (r=0,55?). The quality of the seeds has positive influence on the yield and yield stability under field conditions via quality of the root system (deep of penetration,volume, level of branching).The genotypes with good germination under unfavourable conditions develop stronger root system i.e. volume and length of the roots after sowing and during following vegetation period. Similar results at the rape and the wheatcultivars were obtained.
