Original language description
The pot experiment with different doses of sulphur (0.1 g S/pot; 0.2 g S/pot; 0.4 g S/pot) and with spring barley which was the studied crop was carried out. Soils of three types (Chernozem, Cambisol, Luvisol) were chosen to determine the changes of sulphur contents in soils determined by Mehlich 3 and NH4-acetate methods and S-uptake by plants. The yields of spring barley dry mass did not correspond directly to increased S doses as the highest yield increase was noted at the lowest S dose. The S-uptake by barley corresponded well to sulphur determined by Mehlich 3 method only if relationships between single soil types and S-uptake by plants were determined. NH4-acetate extraction seems for determination of sulphur in different soil types to be more suitable for determination of plant requirement of sulphur across soil types.
