Rostliny čeledi Cucurbitaceae jsou náchylné k viru žluté mozaiky cukety (ZYMV). Bylo testováno 87 genotypů tykvovitých zelenin: 11 rezistentních, 9 náchylných a 3 populace šlechtitelských linií. Aplikací molekulárních markerů bylo zjištěno, že se mezi testovanými rezistentními odrůdami u některých genotypů nacházejí dosud nepopsané geny rezistence. Jejich nalezení, identifikace a charakterizace budou předmětem další práce.
