Resistance to fusarium head blight and Black point of Czech winter wheat varieties
Original language description
Resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) was evaluated in winter wheat varieties in field trials with artificial infection. The development of symptoms in ears after infection was assessed. After harvest, the reduction in yield due to infection was assessed in comparison with the uninfected control and the content of the mycotoxin deoxynivalenol in grains was analyzed. At the same time, this experiment evaluated the attack of wheat varieties with Black Point. It was found that the varieties RGT Telemark, Dagmar, Wiwa, Campesino, Mercedes showed the greatest resistance against FHB. The varieties Wiwa, Bohemia, Balitus, Fakir, Butterfly, Partner, Pallas, LG Orlice, Crossway were the least affected with Black Point. Evaluation of yield indicators showed that Fusarium infection can reduce the weightof 1 000 seeds by up to 40% in highly susceptible varieties. Seeds affected by Black Point are generally larger and their weight compared to the control can be higher by an average of 14%.
